From Curiosity to Core Competencies

My path to becoming a data-powered marketer has been anything but linear – and that's exactly what makes it fun and in turn fueled my curiosity to learn more!

2016 - 2018

The Engineering Launchpad

I have a Bachelor's in Mechatronics Engineering, I learned to think systematically, problem-solve like a pro, and probably fixed a few robots (I made a snake-shaped bot for my final project!). While those engineering gigs are in the rearview, they built the foundation for my analytical brain.

Right out of college, my early days were a wild mix: I spent time as a Process Executive and even a Transcriptionist. Outside science, I learnt German (quite a lot!), and did a ton of freelancing in creatives. From design to content, I was learning to train my visual muscles. This was my exploration phase; trying different hats, honing my discipline, and truly discovering my passion for visual communication and design. It was all part of figuring out where my real superpowers lay.

Digging into Insights

Analytics Insight
Research Intern
January - April 2019

This is where my curiosity in marketing really kicked in. I worked directly with the CEO to shortlist and feature data-driven startups for the magazine's monthly editions. Plus, I got a hands-on introduction to client relations, following up with C-suite leaders and meticulously maintaining a database of leads and prospects.

This was intense! I was not just studying marketing, but doing it – leading teams, shaping brand narratives, and creating compelling visuals. I also squeezed in a CISU MBA focusing on  Leadership and Diversity in August 2020 through the University of Cologne!

Diving into the practical side of marketing, this internship introduced me to ad campaigns, targeting and test marketing - all basics from the ground up. It was through this experience that I truly discovered my enthusiasm for where visual storytelling meets data insight.

Symbiosis Institute of Business Management
Head of Public Relations and Web Committee
Mar 2020 - Apr 2021

I led a 15-member team, basically orchestrating all our institute's online buzz by managing social media and website content calendars. Think strategic visuals – I was the creative head to all those attention-grabbing LinkedIn and Instagram materials. Beyond the digital, we were securing key sponsorships and PR for our big flagship events. I also got to bake in some serious brand consistency by drafting SOPs for brand guidelines, ensuring everything we put out there looked sharp and consistent with the institute's branding. And to top it off, I managed prospective student inquiries, building the university's relationship with future applicants.

Stepping into the big leagues! This is where I truly put on my "marketing lens" and transformed data into strategic action, earning 6 awards for optimizing rebranding and supercharging SEO/PPC. My days were a mix of crafting recommendations for go-to-market campaigns, driving competitive positioning, translating social listening data into campaign messaging and routinely optimizing SEO initiatives for top SERP across Audit services. I even mentored 15+ analysts while onboarding 30+ new hires. Basically, I was living and breathing data-driven marketing impact and a passion for turning insights into growth!
